Ok, warning…this post is going to be picture heavy…but I can’t help it. I just love this dress and I love the way Miss M looks in it!
My friend that is getting married this fall is having my daughter and another friend’s daughter hand out the programs at the wedding. So, of course we had to have dresses that were matchy-match and went well with the wedding colors and theme. Well, good luck finding that for a 5 year old and an 8 year old. Then, I got the bright idea that I would make them….and I had this idea in my head of what I wanted it to look like..and for the first time ever…THEY CAME OUT EXACTLY HOW I PLANNED…phew! I am so excited!! So without further ado, here is the dress that Miss M and her friend will be wearing at the wedding. Squeal! I am pumped…can you tell?!?!?

I know right…Love!!;) The bride’s colors are cognac and brown and the detail on her dress has the cascading look to it, as well as the bridesmaids dresses.

My little model! She loves this dress! I have had the dress made for quite some time now, but hadn’t finished the headband until this weekend. It could not have worked out better because the weather this weekend was amazing so we were finally able to go to the park and take pictures.

She is sooooo sassy…URGH… I’m in big trouble when she gets older!

I just love the way it moves when she twirls. The girls are going to look like stars on the dance floor!!;)

So pretty…the dress…and of course her! Of course, I’m partial!!

A little crazy, but we love her!
I took a pattern piece from a pattern I had for a child’s dress and used that part for the top. The bottom is just a single piece sewn together at the back and gathered at the waist. Then, for the cascading pieces, I took chiffon and serged all the way around it (soooo not the most fun), and then attached them to the skirt. Add in a sash and we are done! :) I will try to do a tutorial when I make the other little girls’ dress later next month.
I hope you all love it as much as I do!! Let me know what you think.
