Happy Friday!! Welcome to Fantabulous Friday#17. I hope you all had a great week!!

I interviewed Heather at Spunky Real Deals! Go say hi!!

Co-hosted Mom’s Monday Mingle with Julie at Naptime Shoppers.

I made a DIY Child Art Box to organize Miss M’s never-ending pile of art supplies.

Yesterday, I co-hosted with Sara from My Merry Messy Life for her first ever link party called Hookin’ on Hump Day centered around fiber arts where you can link up anything fabric, yarn, or felt related! Super fun! If you are linking up something that falls into those categories, feel free to link it up there as well:)!!

Then earlier today, we got to some of the lovely ladies that have been joining me on my sidebar today! They are all such a joy to get to know and they pretty much rock my socks off!!

Before we get started with the party, I want to share with you some of my favorites from last week:

Shatzi from Love and Laundry made this awesome bag! How cute right?

Jennifer @ Our Love and Our Blessing shared this Headboard turned Bench project! Genius! And super practical!!

Janiene @ A Bunch of Bishops linked up this DIY PVC Kids Carwash! I literally was all smiles and giggling reading through the post! What a great summer project!

And, the most viewed link last week was…..

What amazing projects have you been working on this week?? Link them up!!

This weeks Fantabulous Friday featured blog is Mamal Diane!! Go say hello! She has some great tips on her blog! So happy to have met her!

Let’s get to know…

Let’s meet some of the ladies joining me on my sidebar this month!! In alphabetical order by blog name(because that’s how I roll);)

Becca @ Colors Performing Together

Photobucket

Some of my passions/topics are: purity, the Bible, and crafting. I love Jesus, people, and writing.

I have an etsy shop with 3 of my siblings. We specialize in one-of-a-kind hair accessories, including bobby pins, hair wraps, headbands, bows, and alligator clips. We find joy in being creative.

* Where do you find your inspiration for the items in your shop?

We love creativity. It’s so much fun to use that creativity to create products. I would also say that we observed what others sell. This often leads us to come up with new ideas ourselves.

* Your blog has some great projects as well! What would you say is your favorite?

I recently discovered the fun of taking old t-shirts, and turning them into various items. From skirts and dresses to hair accessories. On my blog, I have a tutorial for a braided t-shirt rosette. I’d have to say that right now, t-shirt projects are my favorite.

* What advice would you give to anyone joining the Etsy world?

First, focus on one product line. With our Etsy shop, my siblings and I are focusing on hair accessories.
Second, be sure to have alot of items ready to go before you open your shop. The more items you have, the more interested customers will likely be.

Laurel @ Girl Meets World

I am a girl meeting the world head on one day at a time! I love to be inspired and share that inspiration with others! My blog is a chronicle of my crazy life as a newlyeed and mother of two fur babies. I share everything from cooking adventures toto crafts and everything in between. Basically anything that happens when I take on the world!

* What are your hobbies?

Besides blogging I am a total bookworm! I love reading everything from Harry Potter to Proust. I am currently reading The Night Circus! I am a total movie buff and have been known to have a movie marathon or two ; )  Anything creative and fun I am game for!

* What are three of your favorite posts from your blog?

hmm favorite posts…this one is hard!  Here are a few…

1. Eat Pray Love: finding words of wisdom in another’s story

2. Delightfully Dilettantish: its delightfully random!!

3. Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows 2: my 13+ year adventure comes to an end!!

* Who inspires you in your life?

I am inspired by anyone with self confidence and a positive attitude in the face of adversity. Though I consider myself to be a positive person I struggle with jealousy and not  being content with what I have. Strong woman like Maya Angelou, Beth Moore and many others including my Mom are a definite inspiration to me

Kristin @ Hardly Awkward

I write about life and new things I discover (products, activities, etc). I love finding a product that I can’t live without! I review things I have been given or bought myself. I do try to balance things out with posts about me

* What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time I have been preparing for college. It can get pretty hectic trying to sort through everything. When I am not doing that I read, play with my pup, cook, clean, and blog!

* What are three of your favorite posts from your blog?

1. In this post I talked about one really bad thing that happened to me, but I also talk about two good things. I liked celebrating the good, but posting about the bad helped me get over it.

2. How to make yogurt drops at home.

3. I announce that I am going to be training for a 5k. I am proud of myself for taking on such a huge goal!!

* What do you love most about blogging?

I love the discovery and the interaction that comes with blogging. I get to find out so many new things and meet so many new people. It is exciting when you find a blog that you can’t live without or find something that keeps you inspired all day long.

Amanda @ Ninth Street Notions

I write about easy projects and recipes anyone can do. Because some of us just aren’t naturally crafty, but we still want to create. I host I Made It! Monday every week, and I’m also a Pinhead for The Pinterest Challenge on the first Monday of every month.

* What are your top 3 favorite posts?

This is one of my earlier posts, but I still go back to it. As a child I became discouraged about sewing, and vowed to never pick it up again. When I finally did, I found it to be one of my favorite things to do. I started my blog as a way to show that anyone can create, even if we don’t have the most talent and all of our projects aren’t perfect.

Sometimes I find myself getting caught up in comparing myself to others. This post is one of tales of woe at not being the girl I wish I were sometime.

The reason I learned to sew was to create clothes I liked. Plus, I like it to be pretty easy. Here I show how to take a vintage bedsheet and turn it into a custom skirt in no time at all.

* If you were told you could only have one hobby, what would you choose and why?

As much as I like sewing, if I had to give it up, I would. I could not, however, give up cooking. I love food. I dream about food. I talk about what I’m going to eat at dinner while I’m still enjoying my lunch. Cooking is my absolute favorite activity, so if I had to narrow it down to just one hobby, that would have to be it. Otherwise I couldn’t bear to look at all my cookbooks and cooking magazines. :)

* You’ve been blogging for about a year and a half. What has been your favorite thing about blogging and what is the one thing you learned that you would like to share?

I’ve really enjoyed meeting new people online who share my interests and hobbies. Living in small towns and rural areas means you don’t always have the chance to talk about your favorite topics with people, but through blogging I can. What I’ve learned? Be yourself. And also be organized if you aren’t naturally. To get your blog going you have to blog often and consistently. But don’t sacrifice yourself or your family. Because otherwise, what’s the point?

Brittany @ Three Years Down

Photobucket

My blog focuses on topics of life, love and faith. I write about surviving in a small town, and the how-to’s that I’ve discovered along the way. I also write a lot about Jesus and how following Christ affects my every day life. Another focus of my blog is chronicling the wild, wild west adventures that my boyfriend, who grew up in Small Town, takes me on the “cure” me of my city ways.

*How do you balance working as a lawyer (crazy!) and blogging?

I try to schedule my posts in advance on the weekends. Lately I’ve been out of town on Saturdays so I have been waking up early and working on the blog, or carving out an hour or two on week nights to write and post. Unfortunately, my blog subscriptions suffer and my google reader piles up. Hopefully my life calms down again soon (although it’s not looking like it will)!

* What are three of your favorite posts from your blog?

(1) My Prayer Binder: I spent a long time googling “how” to make one, and finally jumped in and just did it.
(2) When Matters of the Heart Get Scary: I wrote this about my Boyfriend when we first started “talking.” Here we are a year and a half later and I love that I captured this feeling in writing.
(3) On Semi-Step Parenting: My boyfriend’s daughter is teaching me more about myself than I could have ever realized.

* Who inspires you in your life?

My great-grandma. She has woken up daily, well before the sun for as long as I can remember to spend time studying her bible. She would read for hours and hours. Any time I call her to chat she has a nugget of wisdom I didn’t even know I needed. We’ve had a lot of deaths in my family recently and she is a widow, the last of her siblings, and my grandpa passed away last year. I don’t know how she is so strong.
