Child Art Box – Organize Art Supplies

Miss M has definitely taken after me! Thank God for that right??:) She loves to paint, color, draw and do anything arts and crafts-y! Makes for one super proud mommy!! However…it makes a serious mess which I am really bad at! I hate messes. The clutter freaks me out a bit! I knew we had to come up with something to keep all of her items in one place. I think we finally have it figured out!

I found these adorable little cups at IKEA recently and bought them because they were only 50 cents. Cant beat that!! I had no idea at the time what I was going to use them for, but who cares, they were cheap! :) I am so glad I picked them up because they work perfectly.

Using my Silhouette Cameo, I cut out the words on vinyl for each cup. This way, she can put them back where they belong each time, and also, she’ll always know where they are!

We then found this box at a local store here in Germany for about 4 Euro….about 5 dollars. Not bad! And the color matched perfectly. I came home, started up my Silhouette Cameo and started cutting out the words for either side. One side has her name on it…and it is super cute, but I call her Miss M on here, so that works for now;) Just use your imagination and pretend like the other side says some really cool, awesome name that begins with M..:)

After the vinyl was all transferred on, I filled the box with her coloring books, art supplies (including glitter….not sure why I do this to myself!!), and construction paper. Then we placed the cups on the outside of the box.

She was so happy when she saw it and loves that it has her name on it! So far, (it’s been a little over a week), everything has miraculously made its way back to the box! I am shocked…and super excited! I am hoping it continues to go this way for a LONG LONG time!

    Katie,
This is fantastic! I wish my teenagers would use an organizer like this for all their stuff on their desks. Would be perfect for makeup stuff too :) Thanks so much for stopping by Creative Thursday this week. I couldn’t do these parties without you. Can’t wait to see what you link up next week. Have a wonderful weekend.
