I can barely cook, but I’ve mastered this recipe and I’m very proud my family loves it so much! lol
It’s one of a very few vlogs that I’ve done, but I loved the feedback and it gave me courage to maybe attempt another one in the near future!

What is your favorite summer activity and why?
My favorite summer activity is just getting together with family & friends and having a BBQ. BBQ season doesn’t last very long here, so I like to take advantage of it… and the only thing better than BBQ is having a BBQ with friends!  ;)

What is one thing people probably don’t know about you?
Some people might not know that I’m fluently bilingual.  French is my second language, but seeing as I live in Quebec, I’ve had to master it!  Plus, the hubs is french! ;)
Favorite summer recipe!
I don’t really cook… but my husband whips up the.best.iced.tea.ever…. I should get the recipe from him & post it on the blog! haha!

What three words would you use to describe your blog?

Cheerful, Entertaining, Sentimental

Favorite hobby or way to relax?

I love, love, love Tae Kwon Do! It is my activity to escape, recharge, and get some (ok, A LOT OF) exercise!

What is one thing people probably don’t know about you?

I am a part-time hairstylist! Color is my fave!

Favorite summer recipe!

My Great Aunt Ellen’s Scrumptious Lemon Bars are sure to sweeten up any summer BBQ!

Crust:

2 c. flour

1/2 c. powdered sugar

1 c. butter (real butter is essential!)

Melt butter in 9×13” pan. Mix flour and powdered sugar. Pour into pan and stir with butter. Press firmly into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Filling:

4 eggs

4 Tbsp. lemon juice (fresh is best! Add some lemon zest for extra taste if you wish!)

2 c. sugar

4 Tbsp. flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

Beat eggs and lemon juice. Sift sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to beaten eggs. Pour over crust while hot and bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. sift powdered sugar over top when cool.

Cut into squares and enjoy!

**Tip: Do not mix the sugar and eggs together too early while the crust bakes — the sugar chemically “cooks” the eggs if it sits too long.

I really hope you will go visit these two lovely ladies! They are such great women and I just know you will love them! Go show them some love!!

Interview with Confessions of a Semi-Domesticated Mama

I  just landed in the good ole’ U.S. of A. last night and boy is it good to be back!!! I could not be happier to be here for the next two months. Today is a very exciting day for me…I get to interview Delilah at Confessions of a Semi-Domesticated Mama! I seriously have a blog crush on her. We have talked about getting BFF  necklaces for a while now..and I think it might have to happen:)  Everyday I read her blog and I laugh…hysterically. My husband thinks I am crazy because I just sit at the computer and die laughing! And I literally refer to her in our house, by name, as if I have known her forever…because I feel like I have. We really hit it off and she is absolutely fantastic. Straight to the point, funny, loving, and a great friend! I just know you will love her as much as I do and I am so excited for you to get to know her better! So here she is….:) Enjoy!!

Blog | Facebook | Twitter | Pinterest | Bloglovin‘ | Hellocotton

Hey y’all! You can call me Delilah! I’m the mommy to 5, wife to 1, and warden to a psychotic dog! I’m a self-confessed socially awkward, southern girl with sass. I share my sometimes-successful attempts at domestication, motherhood, and life in general on my blog, Confessions of a Semi-Domesticated Mama. I’m definitely not the next June Cleaver but my kids are still alive, my house hasn’t been condemned, and I still have all my own hair. I’m just a mom- that’s my superpower. Welcome to my Semi-Domesticated Life. I hope you brought wine.

I’ve been blogging for 4.5 years but I just launched Confessions of a Semi-Domesticated Mama in January of this year.

What is your favorite summer activity to do with the family?

<br?

We love going to our neighborhood pool and that’s where we spend almost every afternoon. We also love to go to the free concerts in the park that our city holds every summer.

What is your favorite hobby?

Blogging ;)  With so many kids, it’s practically my only hobby. Unless you count laundry, which I do not. I like to read but it takes me forever to finish a book these days.

Favorite 3 posts on your blog?

What advice do you have for those out there that are just starting to blog?

Be yourself. Don’t be intimidated and don’t try to copy someone else. People want to get to know the real YOU, not a persona. And learn balance and perspective in a hurry or blogging can take over your life.

You don’t hold anything back on your blog..how do you deal with the negativity that is out there sometimes through comments?

I laugh. And plot all the horrible things that could happen to them when karma finally catches up with them. There will always be mean girls. You can’t control what they say to or about you but you can control the way you react to it.
Rise above and show class, others will notice. I refuse to sink to those levels. Mean comments get deleted with no explanation.

What one thing are you most looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to being out of the baby stage in our house. Our youngest is almost 2 now. We just took down all the baby gates and she’s about to transition to a toddler bed. I look forward to being able to do more fun activities as a family, things that are hard to do with a baby in tow. We’ve had at least one child in diapers for almost 12 years, that’s a lot of diapers. I’m ready for the next stage in our lives.

Thanks Delilah for letting me interview you! You seriously rock and I heart you!! Check out her favorite posts if you need a laugh! While you are there, feel free to browse around…not only is she hilarious, but she also makes some amazingly delish desserts! I have made a couple of them and have yet to be disappointed! Yum!  We also are co-hosting a giveaway together here! Come check it out!!

Delilah @ Confessions of a Semi Domesticated Mama is giving away 2 months of Ad Space!

Favorite Birthday Memory: My favorite birthday memory is from my 12th birthday. My parents let me have my first real sleepover party and I invited 12 giggling pre-teen girls. We ate pizza, made prank phone calls to cute boys, watched scary movies, made banana splits, and played Truth or Dare. I have no idea how my parents could stand all that noise but they never once came to tell us to quieten down. We didn’t fall asleep until after 5am and it was so much fun!

Blog | Facebook | Twitter

Jelli @ Jellibean Journals is giving away Locally grown Costa Rican dark roast coffee!

Favorite Birthday Memory: Slumber party birthdays were my favorite growing up. My mom was a great kid-game planner so she kept us outside popping balloons, pinning tails, and eating ice cream with no hands so we’d run out of energy before the “slumber” part of the evening began.

Favorite Birthday Memory: When I was 15 my sister snuck into my room while I was still asleep and filled it with balloons on which she’d drawn a myriad of different faces.  Then she lit some birthday candles and woke me up with the Happy Birthday song.  I was really touched that she went to all that trouble :)

Blog | Facebook | Twitter

Emily @ Then Along Came the Boy is giving away a choice of any customizable blogger template!

Favorite Birthday Memory: Hm, that is a tough one. I’m gonna say as a child, since my birthday was always during spring break we would travel to my grandparents and spend the entire week there. It was so much fun!

Blog  | Twitter

Robyn @ Hallow Tree Ventures is giving away a 125 x 125 Ad Spot on her blog!

Favorite Birthday Memory: When I was almost 7, my Grandma sent me a HUGE present in the mail.  It sat by the refrigerator for weeks, mocking my patience and beckoning me to open it.  I remember sitting next to it, trying to hurry up and develop my x-ray vision (which I was sure I had, but I just hadn’t learned how to use it yet).  When that didn’t work I began s-l-o-w-l-y picking at the corner, announcing to my mom, “Uh oh, it looks like it ripped a little bit,” as if I had nothing to do with its gradual unwrapping.  Looking back, I bet I was driving my mom insane.  Anyway, it was awesome because even with all that build-up, the gift still did not disappoint – it was filled to the top with fancy dress-up clothes, hats, and costume jewelry, which I wore everywhere we went for the next two years (again, probably driving my mom crazy, in hindsight).  I must’ve gotten it out of my system, because you couldn’t pay me to dress up now.

Julie @ White Lights on Wednesday is giving away Large Ad Space!

Favorite Birthday Memory: My favorite birthday was my 22nd.  We had a giant house to ourselves.  There was swimming, drinking (I had been drinking all day, but whatever), really good food, lots of friends, and I was the last person standing at 9am.  Such a fun night!

Blog | Facebook | Twitter

Helen @ Eat. Enjoy. Live is giving away Large Ad Space!

Favorite Birthday Memory: Dancing, on my 21st, with all my friends, until my heels hurt so much I had to take them off.

Blog | Facebook | Twitter

Emma @ Your Doctors Wife is giving away A $25 Gift Card to Target!

Favorite Birthday Memory: Well, I can tell you it definitely was NOT my forty-something birthday! The high school called to verify Doc H had, indeed, called to pull D2 out from school due to a “”family emergency”". NO… HE HAD NOT!! Bonehead Beau Hunk had called (doing his best impersonation of Doc H) to make sure D2 could join him and his class for Senior Cut Day. We spent my whole birthday dealing tracking her down, dealing with her lies to cover up, finding her, and ultimately grounding her until she is pushing up daisies! And yet, somehow, we ended up being the “”mean”", “”bad”", and “”unreasonable”" parents! Ummm…excuse me?

Blog | Facebook | Twitter

Brighton @ Simple Brighton is giving away Featured  Ad Space on her blog for 1 month!

Favorite Birthday Memory: My favorite birthday ever was my 18th birthday and not just because I was 18, but my Dad took me to my very first University of Michigan football game.  I love my Wolverines and it was so exciting to be surrounded by the excitement and see the team win.

Blog | Facebook | Twitter

It was crazy and there was a lot of driving and plans. Somewhere in the midst of it, my husband planned a beautiful birthday present, a romantic proposal. It was by far the best birthday.

Guest Post – Two Men and a Mommy

Today I am so excited to introduce you to Lindsay! She has such a fantastic blog! If you are looking for some excellent tutorials to spruce up your blog, her blog is the place to go! Plus, the tutorials are super easy to follow and very detailed!! She is also new to Facebook so go give here a like and show her some love!!

Hey y’all! I am Lindsay from Two Men and a Mommy. My blog is about being a mom of a six-year-old, wife to a traveling husband, and just about life in general. I am also a former blog designer and have done a lot of blog design tutorials so you can learn how to design your own blog.

Being the mom of a six-year-old is hard but I love it. He is going into first grade this year and I am both dreading and looking forward to that. This Summer we are spending our days at the water park and just having fun being together.

My husband is an engineer in the oilfield and travels a lot. So far he has been to Egypt, Trinidad, Paris, Africa, and spends a lot of time in Spain. I love that he gets to travel the world and am so proud of him for his hard work.

I am also the mommy to a five-year old Great Dane. I love her and feel so safe when the hubby travels because she is very protective.

Besides blogging I love scrapbooking, running, crafting, and reading. I am a big reader and am trying to review more books on my blog.

Oh, and I just started a Facebook Page for my blog and would love if you “liked” me : )

My favorite blog post is probably the one I wrote about my battle with anxiety so you might want to start there. Or if you are wanting to design your own blog or want to learn some blogging tricks you might want to check out my tutorial page. I not only teach you blog design but I also teach you how to make your own Twitter background, ETSY banner, and so much more.

Thanks to Katie for letting me take up some space on her blog and now I can’t wait to see y’all over at mine!

Thank you Lindsay for spending some time with us here at Little Becky Homecky! Head on over and give her a shout out!

Don’t miss anything. Stay connected!
